This time of year everyday is blooms day. Yesterday we walked a dirt road under an ordinary woods of oak, madrone, manzinta, fir and pine. Two of our spinrg woodland flowers were scattered across the slopes.
An eight-petal variety of Ranunculus. A “buttercup” which means many different things to many people.
Western Hounds-tongue, Cynoglossum occidentale. It’s a weed from Europe, came over with two of its cousins. Apparently can used for a medicinal tea.
