A Chestnut-backed Chickadee was in our garden today, and in the second photo a Junco is looking on. This smallest of Oregon’s three chickadee species is Poecile rufescens. So now all three chickadee species have made an appearance in our garden this fall. The resident, breeding chickadees around our home are the Black-capped.
