May turn out to be another unexpcected consequence of human ignorance and greed. It's the acorns not the seedlings that are directly at risk. Today at noon 10/19/09 I saw an adult American bald eagle standing in the reclaimed marsh between the Corte Madera village shopping center and the cost+ parking lot. literally a stones throw from highway 101. The bird appeared to be a fully grown adult with brownish body, pure white head and tail. The Bird sat there looking around and was disturbed to fly away by a seagull, which then began flying directly behind the eagles tail almost nipping at the huge bird as it's large graceful wings batted a retreat. I have lived in Marin County all my life and have been a junior birder so to speak for some time... and though I have seen many osprey this is my first confirmed bald eagle in Marin. Hello
