Eight arrested, one killed.

At least one arrest of occupier who’d left Oregon.

Bundy and his cohort were confronted on US 395, apparently on their way to meet with maverick sheriff in Grant County (John Day) who has been  saying that the Hammonds should be released to kick off negotiations with the occupiers.  This is a sheriff who presumably took some oath to uphold the law and would likely have been stout supporter of mandatory sentencing back when that was the right-wing answer to crime back in the 1980-90s.  Now, of course, that a pair of right-wing white males have been caught in that web mandatory sentencing is some kind of federal conspiracy.  It must be so convenient to forget history the very next morning.  Bundy was expected to speak at a public meeting while in John Day.

Charges so far: arrestees face a federal felony charge of conspiracy to impede officers of the United States from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation or threats. No indictments or federal charging documents had been made public.

Five or six occupiers remain at headquarters complex on the Malheur Refuge. They say they will not leave though they are now under siege.
