JASPER, OREGON, GREAT GRAY OWL

JASPER GGOThis photo was taken by Gina de Grassi on private land near Jasper, Oregon, where a Great Gray sporadically shows up on certain meadows to hunt.  This is east of Eugene and west of MacKenzie Bridge.  The latter area in the Cascades is known to have a breeding population of Great Grays.  This bird may just of wandered down from there, looking for snowless meadow with a rich menu of small mammals.
