With the first autumnal rain storms the underground fungus community begins to show its various corporeal bodies above ground.  One of the most colorful, not to say intoxicating, is in the amanita tribe.  Wikipedia begins its entry with “Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, is a mushroom and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus.”
