SPARROWS THE MORNING AFTER

The sparrows around our garden feeders were acting like this was just another coolish, overcast November morn.  I have no way to explain to them how or why their world has changed.  For added emotive impact today: for the first time I saw a White-throated Sparrow in our garden and through the window he played hide and seek with my camera lens.  Here are a few adequate shots:wts-uppwts-peekswts-peeks2wts5wts1

  1. Apropos of the “Sparrows” post, here is what I posted on a friend’s Facebook page 4 hrs ago>>>

This is so trivial, Erin, but as we were grieving at breakfast, we also were watching the sparrows at the suet and the chickadees and titmice at the seed feeders. At 4 am, unable to sleep, i heard the Canadian geese overhead. And they are all oblivious to this (well, until Trump seeks to dismantle the EPA and eliminate all environmental regulations). And that almost brought a wan smile to my face. if u know what I mean. We are of course, totally devastated…
