CRANES IN SOUTHERN OREGON

We may have a President-elect who doesn’t believe in climate change but the birds know better.  There are still cranes at 2000 feet in elevation in Jackson County. They are normally gone by October from that area.

Checked eBird.  Sightings of cranes are regular until Mid-December in Jackson County.  They are present right now in Klamath Basin as well.  Here’s posting on Rogue Valley Birds by Eric Setterberg of Ashland; “I observed 2 small groups of Sandhill Cranes today at Emigrant Lake. The first group of 10 was heading east over the lake, the second, about an hour later was circling above the dam area.”
