COMING STRAIGHT AT US

A group of birders with me were standing on the edge of a large meadow at 4500 feet elevation on Friday–Howard Prairie east of Ahsland.  And a Prarie Falcon came straight at us from the far side of the meadow, only pulling up into an upward arc at the final seconds.  Here’s the photo taken at that moment:Praire falcon (1 of 1)this is as sharp and clear as a field guide illustration.  teh dark line donw the face, the sand colored, streaked wings and tail, the dark brown “armpits.”  Wow.

This photo is by Victoria Robinson, member of the Ohlone Audubon Society based in Fremont, CA.  Thanks for sharing.
